Summer Camps

Our summer camps are developed with your family in mind. Our camps are aimed at providing your family with excellent summer programming at an affordable rate. Our camps are co-ed and are offered for children ages 5 to 11. On each day your child can expect a morning of sports, a team talk, and an afternoon that may include off site trips and camp activities. Each week will end with your child experiencing an offsite trip for the entire day. We provide a 6 to 1 camper to staff ratio and our leaders are trained to provide your child a fun and safe experience.  Our Prince Edward County summer camps are sponsored by Emmanuel Baptist Church.

FAQ

Can I sign my child up for more than one week of camp?

Yes. There is no limit to the number of camps you can register your child for.

What is the camper to staff ratio?

We strive for a 1 to 6, leader to camper ratio for our Tyke and Junior Camps and a 1 to 8, leader to camper ratio for our Intermediate Camps.

Will my child be playing with and against children of the same age?

Each camp is divided into two divisions, a younger division and an older division. Your child will play with and against children the same age.

What time does camp start and end? And do you provide extended care?

Each camp will begin at 8:45AM and end at 4:15PM. Before care will begin at 8AM and after care will run until 5PM.

How much does camp cost? Do you provide financial assistance/bursaries?

Each week of camp ranges from $130.00 to $170.00. Extended care, before or/and after care, is $6.00/day. We work with local community organizations that provide funding and bursaries to families in need. Contact us at info@onsideathletics.ca for more information.

What will a typical week of camp involve?

On each day your child can expect a morning of sports, team activities, a team talk, and an afternoon that may include off site trips (e.g. local splash pad, Conservation area) and camp activities. Each week will end with your child experiencing an offsite trip for the entire day

What are the “team talks”?

At Onside we want your child to learn more than how to play a specific sport. After each game your child’s team will participate in a “Team-Talk”. The “Team-Talk” emphasizes character development taught from a Christian perspective.

How will children be transported to offsite trips?

Campers and staff will be transported by bus to off site trips.

What will my child receive?

Your child will receive an excellent week of either camp, daily trips/activities and an Onside Summer Camp T-Shirt.

Do you have life guards for off-site trips involving swimming?

The safety of your child is our first priority. At any swimming trip we ensure that qualified lifeguards are present.

What will my child need to bring to camp?

Along with any appropriate sports equipment, each camper will need to bring outdoor running shoes, sun screen, hat, and water bottle.
