How much does the program cost?
Cost is $20/participant.
Does my child need their own equipment?
Your child can bring their own rod and tackle. If they do not have their own, we will provide the equipment.
Where does the program take place?
We will be fishing at Kolb Park.
What are the COVID-19 safety measures in place for this club?
Every week, each participant will be required to answer a series of screening questions. In addition, all of our volunteers and participants will be keeping 2 metres apart at all times. Masks will be worn in special cases where this distance cannot be kept. Sanitizer will be provided and applied by everyone every 30 minutes for the duration of the morning.
Do I have to be an experienced angler to be a part of this?
Nope! This club is all about learning how to fish. All skills levels are welcome, but short teaching times at the start of each morning will be geared towards beginners who have never fished before.
What happens if it rains?
Since this is an outdoor event near water, we will have to be extra cautious in the case of inclement weather. Emails will be sent out the morning of the event if we need to cancel. If it looks like there’s a slight chance of light rain, it’s probably best to bring a rain jacket that day just in case.
Can I stay with my child?
Yes, parents are welcome to stay and fish with their child if they wish to, but it’s not required. We have screened volunteers and lifeguards present to handle any situation that may arise.
